About Me

This is my ninth year teaching 3rd grade at Wildewood Elementary School in Ralston, Nebraska.  I truly love what I do as I'm surrounded by an amazing community of enthusiastic students, a collaborative staff, and terrific parents.

I grew up in the Omaha area, but I now live in Washington, Nebraska with my husband, Tim.  Together we are the parents of three beautiful children: Rachel, Aleczander, and Nikolas.  They are the loves of our lives, and we enjoy every minute we spend with them!  We also have two pets: a Shiba Inu dog named Bella and a kitty cat named Sorry.

Here's a bit more information on my educational background.  I graduated from the University of Nebraska at Omaha in May of 1997 with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education.  I specialized in the area of mathematics and became a licensed stockbroker after graduation.  When Rachel began kindergarten, I decided it was time to get back into the classroom.  I completed my first Masters degree in Elementary Education with an emphasis on integrating the arts in 2008, and I recently completed my second Masters degree in Educational Administration in 2013.  My love of learning can't seem to keep me away from educational opportunities.  I look forward to pursuing my doctorate within the next five to ten years.

A few other things about me.....
I am a huge sports fan, but most of all, I'm an avid Denver Broncos football fanatic!
Did you know they won the Super Bowl this year?!  In my spare time, I love singing, swimming, talking about math, and EVERYTHING Scouts.  I'm a travel volunteer with the Spirit of Nebraska Girl Scouts council and lead yearly trips with girls to New York, Savannah, and anywhere else they choose to send me!  I am also becoming more well-versed in the area of Boy Scouts, and I've recently gotten over my fear of camping!

In my classroom, I promote an atmosphere of safety, trust, and respect. I work hard to build a sense of community among my students, and I emphasize the idea of teamwork. I value collaboration in my classroom, and I work with my peers to make every year the best possible experience for each one of our Wildewood students!

Lastly, but possibly most important of all........
Open communication is extremely important to me, and I want you to feel valued and respected as a parent.  Please feel free to contact me at any time by either email or phone with any questions or concerns your might have.
